Is there more to learn than there is to know?

Is there more to learn than there is to know?

I here this saying all the time. The older I get the less I know.

I just heard a woman say it yesterday in an interview on the radio. She is in her eighties and she said it between comments and under her breath.

I have even heard it said, the more I learn the less I know.

Now I’m guessing that the knowing that is being talked about is more along the assumption and superstitious kind of knowing. Stuff we believed as children but learn later learn are not true.

But that’s not the feeling I get when I hear some who has lived a long and full life make this statement under their breath surrounded by statements of all that they have learned over the years.

I can relate to this statement. It seems the longer I live and the more I learn, the less I know.

So is there more to learn than there is to know or is there more to know than we could ever possibly learn?

derek
